Headless, lightweight and with a fast time to market
Task
After seven years of successful operation and continuous development of the website that we implemented for Nbank in 2015, it was time to relaunch the site. What was required was a future-proof website that provides content quickly and intuitively, is easy to maintain and enables uncomplicated further development. The ability to react quickly to new trends, technologies and touchpoints was at the top of the wish list for the new site. The website's accessibility was also at the forefront of the requirements.
For the editorial team, we were able to focus on intuitive use of the templates and modules. This allowed a quick introduction without a great deal of training.
- The forms contain a suitable preview image for various display options so that the result is immediately visible.
- In order to familiarize yourself with the modules as quickly as possible, forms are automatically pre-assigned with sample texts.
- Editors no longer need to acquire expert knowledge about content-related contexts.
- Content types are automatically assigned to editorial areas using keywords and categorizations. Categories and keywords can be freely defined and changed by the editorial team within the global content.
- Editorial changes are immediately available in the forms. We developed an extension for FirstSpirit specifically for this purpose.
- Implementation of event management with the Universal Messager. This considerably simplifies the maintenance of events and the administration of event visitors.

Technically, we pursued a headless approach without a complex technology stack. FirstSpirit only provides the data, which is cast in form and color through server-side rendering.
The clean separation of CMS and HTML playout makes it possible to fully utilize continuous development and integration and to integrate new features solidly and securely even shortly before the launch, thus further increasing the added value for the visitor.

For visitors to the website, the editorial concept provides relevant and up-to-date content where it can be useful and helpful. A funding panorama automatically offers the associated funding programs and displays suitable press releases.
In order to ensure the greatest possible accessibility and provision of information, we use dynamic HTML5/CSS elements instead of JavaScript wherever possible. We also offer alternative displays if JavaScript is deactivated in the browser. This is not only a speed advantage, but also a considerable increase in reach, especially on mobile devices and with a poor internet connection.
